Medco
pharmacists enjoy consistent schedules. A
typical day is eight hours long with three or
four rotations, 30 minutes for lunch, and two 15
minute breaks. You might start the day reviewing
and validating prescriptions, move on to calling
physicians to discuss drug therapies, and
counsel patients after lunch. The next day could
be Health Management and Quality Assurance.
Depending on the need, pharmacists have the
option to work extra hours at an overtime rate.

quality experiential learning opportunities for
students through internships,
clerkship/rotations, and a specialized Managed
Care Pharmacy Practice residency program in all
of our pharmacies and our corporate office.
Typically, Medco will have approximately
40 summer internship opportunities and 100
externship/rotation opportunities available to
pharmacy students each year.
