Ochsner Medical Center, located along the banks of the Mississippi River in scenic New Orleans, is one of the South's most distinguished academic medical institutions. For nearly 60 years, Ochsner has cared for residents in the greater New Orleans communities. Ochsner Medical Center, which includes a 478-bed acute care hospital and clinic, is part of the Ochsner Health System - a comprehensive network of over 24 regional clinics, the Richard Freeman Research Institute and the inpatient Elmwood Medical Center.

The Ochsner Medical Center Pharmacy is an integral part of the Ochsner healthcare team. Pharmaceutical specialties include transplant, cardiology, geriatrics, anticoagulation, critical care, infectious diseases, pediatrics, internal medicine, and oncology. The Pharmacist-run Anticoagulation Clinic is a vital part of ambulatory care. Certified Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Students provide support in a wide variety of areas including medication distribution, sterile products (IV) preparation, and clinical monitoring.

The Pharmacy Department is made up of separate inpatient and outpatient pharmacies that provide administrative, clinical, and distributive services to both hospital and clinic patients. Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians work with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to our patients and our community.
