excelleRx was
founded in Philadelphia in 1996 (as Hospice
Pharmacia) and currently employs more than
500 people in four locations (Philadelphia,
Memphis, Phoenix and Charleston). excelleRx
has established itself as the market-leader
in hospice medication management and is
successfully expanding into other key
patient populations.
The excelleRx system incorporates:
- Standardization of best-practices pharmacotherapy

Medication Management Support Centers
The Company operates three Medication
Management Support Centers (MMSCs) located
in Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Memphis. These
state-of-the-art care centers are staffed by
clinical pharmacists and by certified
pharmacy technicians. The MMSCs are a key
intellectual asset of the Company, and the
expertise of excelleRx team members is the
most valued feature to excelleRx clients.
Pharmaceutical Dispensing
excelleRx operates two state-of-the-art
medication dispensing facilities to fulfill
and deliver medications for unique patient
needs in the most timely, appropriate, and
cost efficient manner. excelleRx also works
with a prescription services card, which
enables dispensing from any one of 58,000
community pharmacies in the United States.
Proprietary Software
excelleRx’s web-based pharmacy management
software system is called Xeris®. Through
Xeris, both internal users (pharmacists,
technicians) and external users (nurses,
physicians, administrators) are empowered to
monitor and modify pharmacotherapy plans,
view comparative pertinent results of
therapy longitudinally, prescribe
electronically, and perform various other
manipulations for reporting purposes.
